Feeling the Childhood
The rugby association held a synod1 for zebras. When the synod was over, Oscar nodded off2 at his office. Recently, there were many odds and sods3, so he felt very tired. Suddenly, the telephone rang; it was Oscar’s grandfather. The old man had cooked some delicious food and he asked Oscar to come. A nod is as good as a wink4, he had cooked Oscar’s most favorite cod5. On the nod6, he went there certainly.

Oscar’s grandfather lived in the suburbs and he was an odd bod7. The old man treated Oscar very well. After putting down the telephone, Oscar drove his car to his grandfather’s house. Oscar passed through the sod8 where he had often played during his childhood. There were a good number of hods9 around the grassland. A bunch of dry-shod10 children were playing football there. At that moment, a boy arrived at the place. He was about 12 years old. The slipshod11 boy looked very roughshod12. The boy shouted out, “Poor sod13, sod off14 quickly! This is my turf!” Another boy from the group walked out, “Sod it15, where are you from? You are a sod16. Do you want to fight?” Oscar went to them at once and tried to persuade them to stop riding roughshod over 17each other. At last, the boys agreed to stop fighting. “How about playing football with us?” They looked at each other and nodded their approval18. Oscar joined them happily to play football.

Looking For Dogs1
In the morning, when Oscar got up, he felt very tired. Yesterday, he had attended a camp which was held by the rugby association. The camp was in the suburbs and there was a bog2, too. Until now, his shoes were still soggy3. At this moment, someone knocked at the door. It was his colleague David. He came to invite Oscar to go to a dog market4. This reminded Oscar that the rugby association would hold the dogs’ game5 the day after tomorrow and everyone had to bring their dogs to take part in it.

Oscar and David arrived at the dog market and there were all sorts of dogs: bird dogs6, Seeing Eye dogs7, tracker dogs8, bull dogs9, watchdogs10, and so on. Not far from them, two people were fighting over a dog. One was an old woman who was dressed up like a dog’s dinner11. The other one was a young man. The woman shouted out, “Bog off12!” It seemed that the young man was an underdog13 and he didn't have a dog’s chance14. The young man couldn’t do anything, “I don't want to have a cat-and-dog quarrel15 with you”. Then he went away.

Oscar and David went on. Suddenly someone was calling “Oscar!” Oscar turned around. That man was his father’s friend, Mr. Smith. He was a sea dog16. Smith lived a dog’s life17 when he was very young. This helped him develop a dogged18 personality. “Every dog has its day19.” Smith was very extraordinary in his youth. He was not a cog in the wheel20. But he made a choice of leaving the competition for the capital position. It’s dog eats dog21. Smith didn't like a life of vanity. Now, old Smith had a poor memory and he often made a dog’s breakfast of things22. Smith was very happy. Perhaps this coincide the life what he wanted.

They carried the chopper7 and went to the hill. Oscar told them, “It’s very slippery, the hill is choppy8 everywhere, be careful!” “We see, let’s go ahead and chop our way through9!” The younger brother said. Finally, they chose a large pine, they chopped it down10 and chopped off11 the useless branches. When they returned home, it was already dark.

“We need to buy color lights and toys to decorate the tree!” the grandfather said. The little cousins went shopping12 with Oscar again. When they walked along the street, they found that most of shops had been shut up13. Only one big toy shop14 was still open. The shopping15 there was full and the boss was very warm-hearted, “Welcome, shoppers16, please come in.” he said. All sorts of toys were all over the shop17, Oscar shopped around18 for toys, and each toy was cheap and the quality was good. They bought a lot of toys and went back home.

There was a spot8 on his forehead and it added a spot9 to his spotless10 face. But his uncle was very optimistic, “It doesn't matter, this is just a spot of bother11.” Oscar asked him, “That’s fine. It is a bright spot12, what’s the exact spot13 of your holiday?” “It’s a secret.” “Is it mysterious?” “The weak spot14 is that time was not enough.” “How many days did your supervisor give you?” “En.., put it spot15, he just said I should come back to work when I feel well.” “But it is very strict in your army. If the supervisor spotted16 you traveling these days, he would ask you to return on the spot17and that will put you in the spot18.” “Take it easy, it is just a spot of mistake19, they will forgive me because I am injured.” “When will you go?” “Tomorrow, I will take some spot cashes20 right now.” “Have a good holiday!”

The Everlasting Regret

Oscar went out to buy smoked1 meat, he noticed a crowd of people gathered together nearby. Oscar moved close to the crowd. A man in smoke2 clothes carried an egg and declared that it was laid by a cock and the people laughed loudly. One of the people standing nearby said, “Are you making a joke3? Is it impossible? ” “Right, he must be playing a practical joke4 now.” After a while, the crowed scattered and that man still stood there. He continued to shout out, “What I said is true, I don't see the joke5.” The dispersed people talked about that strange thing, it seemed that the joke was on them6.

Oscar thought this guy is so queer, what’s wrong with this joker7? One vegetables vendor told him the man’s story. Actually, that man was a smoker8, he was a chain smoker9. His wife detested smoking very much, because she didn't want to passive smoke10. So the wife ordered him “No smoking11”. But the man didn't obey her. Finally, an unfortunate thing happened. One day, due to his carelessness the man set his house on fire. Although the fire was put out, everything in his house went up in smoke12. His wife left him .After that, the man pledged to be a non-smoker13 for ever, but he became insane too.
